This is a Severus character study, originally posted here for

snapecase. It covers his life between the ages of 11-20. It's kind of dark, and if you'd rather not read Tobias being physically/emotionally abusive, you can skip the first section without it really impacting on the rest of the story. I was relatively happy with both my entries for Snapecase, which is rare for me, so I hope you enjoy them! ♥

So... I signed up for the HP Creatures fest, despite almost never reading creature!fic, because I fell in love with this prompt. It was a difficult story to write (it's pretty heavy on the angst), but after lots of help from three absolutely wonderful beta readers,
